In addition to our substantial work on the domestic front, the Council has developed extensive bilateral and multilateral relationships with private and public sector leaders around the world. The Council has signed Memoranda of Understanding with organizations in Brazil, Russia, India, Ireland, Mexico, Chile, Greece, UAE and Saudi Arabia. The Council creates distinctive business and relationship building opportunities for our members, through Innovation Summits and Innovation Learning Laboratories in these countries. Since 2007, the Council has been engaged in a highly successful series of bilateral dialogues and Innovation Summits between the United States and Brazil on competitiveness and innovation strategy.
In 2009, together with the Competitiveness Councils from Brazil, Egypt, Korea, Russia, UAE, and Saudi Arabia, the Council founded the United Nations accredited Global Federation of Competitiveness Councils (GFCC) to work on competitiveness policies through the sharing of best practices and strategies. Through this network of over 35 organizations in over 30 countries, we help our members identify global partners for collaboration and market growth. At the heart of the GFCC mission is the belief that a rising economic tide will lift all boats and help America and American businesses compete better in all markets.
The Council also has strong bi-lateral relationships with other leading organizations within this space including: Japans Science and Technology in Society Forum, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, the Brazilian National Development Bank - BNDES, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, the Organization of American States, the Inter-American Competitiveness Network, the Americas Competitiveness Forum, and the World Economic Forum.
