Joel Leonard

Joel LeonardJoel Leonard has been dubbed by many in industry as the “Maintenance Evangelist” for his passionate promotion of the Maintenance field. He wrote the first ever song about the industry, which has been played on National Public Radio and has had more than 60,000 downloads. Leonard is a contributing editor to Plant Services Magazine and has spoken to numerous government officials and industry leaders about the maintenance crisis. Previously, Leonard served as the national volunteer vice president of membership for the Association for Facilities Engineering, helping double their membership during his tenure.

Leonard currently leads the growth and advancement of the MPACT Learning Center. He has also implemented more than 1000 computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) packages and set up training relationships with more than 80 colleges and universities to help industry adopt these computerized maintenance management tools. He recently created the MPACT Skilled Maintenance/Facilities JobFair, placing more than 1100 people in the maintenance sector.

On January 15th, 2008, Leonard launched SKILL TV, an internet based TV show dedicated to showcasing the maintenance crisis to marshal efforts to address the profit potential the maintenance function can provide. Leonard regularly contributes to CNBC, NPR and numerous media outlets to fight the maintenance crisis.
