The Council on Competitiveness is a non-partisan and non-governmental organization made up of CEOs, university presidents and labor leaders working to ensure U.S. prosperity. Since its foundation in 1986, the Council continues to set an action agenda to drive U.S. productivity and leadership in world markets and to raise the standard of living for all Americans.
We are seeking a Manager, Strategic Development and Membership Outreach to support the Executive Department and the Senior Vice President - to help address Americas competitiveness challenges. The Manager, Strategic Development and Membership Outreach will gain invaluable experience as they become familiar with the inner workings of a non-profit organization/think tank and gain an opportunity to attend meetings with high-level attendees including C-suite leaders, university president, labor union leaders, national lab directors and senior public officials.
Due to the Councils dynamic and entrepreneurial culture, the Manager, Strategic Development and Membership Outreach can expect to be exposed to and engaged in various projects. Day-to-day responsibilities will include general administrative support, researching current and prospective members, writing letters and briefing memos, maintaining and updating databases, copying, filing, and, most importantly, staffing and preparing for Council events including major national conferences, dinners, board meetings, etc.
Required Qualification: An ideal candidate should have an undergraduate degree, preferably in business, international relations, public policy, or communications. Proficiency in using the Internet for research and various database and software applications including MS Excel, MS Word and MS Outlook are required. Raisers Edge or and similar database experience is preferred. The candidate must be proactive, a strong team player and a quick learner. S/he must have strong interpersonal and telephone skills, and be comfortable working in databases. Excellent research and writing skills are essential for the role. Occasional late nights maybe required especially during events.
Desired Qualification:
- Related professional experience, Bachelors Degree.
