Alana Nolan

Research Associate

Alana Nolan is a Research Associate for the Council on Competitiveness, where she conducts research and analysis to promote innovation-based economic and workforce development initiatives, as well as facilitates the Council’s government outreach efforts. She also works to support the Global Federation of Competitiveness Councils, a network of over 30 competitiveness councils from around the world committed to sharing best practices, identifying global competitiveness principles and seeking to better understand the drivers of national prosperity in a global economy.

Nolan came to the Council as an intern in 2010 and assumed her current position in January 2011. Prior to the Council, Nolan joined the staff of a leading American ski resort and spent a gap year balancing work with recreation in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Previously, she interned with U.S. Representative Joe Sestak’s district and DC offices, as well as with the Washington, DC-based government relations firm Cassidy and Associates.

Nolan graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Villanova University. Additionally, she developed Italian proficiency through full-immersion language study at Italy’s premier institution for the teaching, research, and diffusion of the Italian language.
