Blythe Chorn

Manager of Policy Studies

Blythe Chorn is the manager of policy studies in the Council on Competitiveness’s Regional Innovation Initiative (RII). Chorn is currently leading the development of training seminars for the U.S. Department of Labor Employment & Training Administration and the U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration. She is also a contributor to the RII’s new leadership projects, focusing specifically on the engagement of the private sector in economic development initiatives. Through the U.S. Department of Labor’s Workforce Innovation in Regional Development (WIRED) initiative, she has provided technical assistance in economic development to regions around the country.

Prior to joining the Council, Chorn was a systems analyst at McMaster-Carr Supply Company, an industrial supply distributor based in Chicago. In this role, she consulted with senior management and system users to create new systems to maximize warehouse capacity. Chorn also interned at the World Trade Center – St. Louis as an international market research assistant. Currently, Chorn does extensive work on the intersection of public policy and the private sector with a focus on corporate social responsibility.

Chorn graduated Magna Cum Laude from Washington University in St. Louis in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Area Studies. She has studied in France and was a general course student at the London School of Economics.
