Denise Swink
Senior Advisor
Denise Swink has 35 years of experience spanning a variety of programs at the U.S. Geological Survey, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U. S. Department of Energy, and is currently serving as analytical support to all case studies. At the Department of Energy, Swink served as director of the Office of Planning and Environment and the Office of Fossil Energy; deputy assistant secretary of the Office of Industrial Technologies and the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy; and deputy director and acting director of the Office of Energy Assurance.
During the last two decades, Swink held management/supervisory positions and was a member of the Senior Executive Service. She has worked at the highest levels of government, both nationally and internationally, on topics including: oil, gas and coal regulatory and economic issues; industrial manufacturing productivity and efficiency; electricity infrastructure development; and safety and reliability of the entire energy infrastructure.
Extensive public/private partnerships including state entities were developed to address issues, develop strategies, fund and implement plans and monitor results and effectiveness. As the energy infrastructure is the bedrock infrastructure for the reliability of all other critical infrastructures, Swink has gained substantial knowledge of interdependencies with other infrastructures, such as banking and finance, telecommunications, water systems, agriculture and the defense industrial base. She holds an undergraduate degree in mathematics and a master’s degree in environmental sciences.
