Kara Jones
Research and Project Associate, Energy & Sustainability Initiatives
As research and project associate of energy and sustainability initiatives, Kara Jones conducts research across the spectrum of energy and climate issues and contributes to the data analysis and writing of the project’s reports and white papers. Jones also manages event planning for initiative meetings and the Progressive Dialogue Series, and is responsible for maintenance of the project’s budget and library of research materials.
Prior to joining the Council, Jones spent two years teaching English as a second language to elementary school age students in Taipei, Taiwan. While teaching classes at a private language school, she also managed her own private tutoring business. Jones has held several positions at Washington University in St. Louis, including research assistant for the Anthropology Department. As part of the “History of the Department” project, she worked closely with the founder of the department and the academic coordinator and created an accessible archive for departmentwide use.
Jones holds a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology and philosophy-neuroscience-psychology from Washington University in St. Louis.
