Lee Dachi

Membership Manager

Lee Dachi joined the Council on Competitiveness in March of 2006 to work with the strategic development office on membership recruitment and retention. She works with the vice president of strategic development to recruit new members, track membership contact information, track membership accounting records and acquire sponsorship for the annual meeting.

Dachi has been active in the fundraising field for more than 17 years, both as a volunteer and as a professional. She started her professional career with the American Red Cross and spent eight and a half years with Volunteers of America, where she organized, managed and conducted an annual national major gifts campaign which went from $300,000 to $14 million in four years. Dachi became a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) in 2003.

Before working at the American Red Cross, Dachi spent several years overseas with her husband, who was in the U.S. Foreign Service. She lived for four years in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and for three years in New Delhi, India. Because of the poverty and hopelessness for women and children she saw in these countries, she became seriously involved in fundraising efforts with organizations that were trying to make a difference in these communities. During her stay in Sao Paulo, she was president of the International Women’s Club, president of the Spouses of the Consular Society and was on the board of the American Society. In New Delhi, she was president of the American Women’s Society and Committee Chair for the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce.

Between living in Brazil and India, Dachi was an office manager for Capital Speakers, Inc., in Washington, D.C., (1989-1991), and prior to Brazil, she headed the technical department at Ricoh, Inc., in Rosslyn, VA (1978-1984). She is married, has two children, three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
