Marcy Jones
Special Assistant to the President, Office Manager
Marcy Jones is the Special Assistant to the President and the Office Manager of the Council on Competitiveness. In this position, Jones serves as the key personal assistant to the president and ensures the smooth operation of the president’s immediate office. She acts as the president’s liaison and schedules telephone and conference calls with high ranking political officials, corporate CEOs, university presidents and labor leaders. She prepares background and briefing materials for the president’s meetings, phone calls, etc., and she prepares the president’s personal correspondence.
Prior to joining the Council, Jones served as the executive assistant to the COO of ACS State and Local Solutions. In this position, Jones was responsible for providing high-level administrative support to the COO, including travel planning, coordinating the COO’s calendar, preparing time and expense reports and coordinating meetings. Jones also worked as the executive assistant to the managing partner in the Office of Federal Tax Services at Arthur Andersen LLP and for The Psychiatric Institute of Washington, D.C., for 12 years, where she was responsible for compiling and analyzing data for licensure and accreditation surveys, developing and revising policies and procedures, and coordinating several hospital committees.
Born in Albany, NY, Jones received a Bachelor of Arts in political science with a minor in English at the State University of New York at Oneonta. She is the founder and president of Sisters United, an outreach/book club group. Sisters United is involved in many community outreach projects as well as their own Adopt-A-Grandmother program. Jones is also a notary public and a certified personal trainer. She enjoys providing in-home personal training as well as fitness and health related consultation.
