Matthew Clark

Program Director

Matt Clark is a program director for the U.S. Manufacturing Competitiveness Initiative (USMCI) and works to support the Council’s manufacturing portfolio. USMCI is a program geared towards creating and advocating for comprehensive policy solutions that will make the United States the most fertile and attractive environment for high-value manufacturing.

Clark joined the Council as an intern in 2009 and assumed his current position in June 2010. Prior to joining the Council, Clark worked in Niigata, Japan as an English instructor; both in the classroom and with professional clients. He also has experience working in the shipping and manufacturing sectors.

Clark is a graduate of the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, holding a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a focus on geopolitical conflict. Additionally, he studied political unrest and reconciliation in Ireland and Northern Ireland, conducting independent research throughout both countries.
