Council President to Moderate Panel at Americas Competitiveness Forum

Deborah L. Wince-Smith, president of the Council on Competitiveness, will moderate a high-level panel at the second annual Americas Competitiveness Forum (ACF) with the leaders of the competitiveness councils from Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica and Dominican Republic.
The discussion will focus on how these Western Hemisphere groups have functioned in emerging economies, and what tactics have been the most effective in bolstering their country’s competitiveness and stimulating economic development and reform.
Participants include: Roberto Newell Garcia, CEO, Mexican Institute for Competitiveness; Antonio Rodriguez Mansfield, Executive Director, Consejo Nacional de Competitividad, Dominican Republic; Hernando Jose Gomez Restrepo, president, Consejo Privado de Competitividad Colombia; and Cladio Gastal, president, Movimento Brazil Competive (MBC).
The ACF provides an opportunity for business-to-business and business-to-government discussions yielding practical actions that can be taken to improve competitiveness and economic prosperity in the Americas. The ACF is a business focused conference, where companies interact with one another, conduct meetings with more than 30 foreign government delegations from throughout the Hemisphere, and learn about market opportunities directly from foreign governments.
