WASHINGTON, DC - The National Energy Summit & International Dialogue: Driving Competitiveness through Sustainable Energy will take place from September 23-24, in Washington, DC.
What:
The Council on Competitiveness National Energy Summit & International Dialogue is a major two-day event in downtown Washington, DC. On Day 1, top administration officials and the nation’s leading industry, academic and labor leaders will identify the policy and market breakthroughs necessary to transform U.S. energy production and consumption. The Council will issue a comprehensive action agenda to enhance U.S. energy security, sustainability and competitiveness.
Day 2 will look beyond national boundaries and address the energy challenges confronting the world. The goal of this “International Dialogue” is to initiate innovative partnerships that will accelerate market adoption of sustainable energy solutions across the globe.
In 2007, the Council on Competitiveness launched the Energy Security, Innovation & Sustainability (ESIS) Initiative to address critical energy and competitiveness issues facing the United States. The Initiative set as its main objective the shaping of an action agenda to drive private sector demand for sustainable energy solutions, while supporting the creation of new industries, markets and jobs. In 2008, the Council released Prioritize, an energy action plan for the 44th president’s first 100 days in office. One year after the release of Prioritize, the Council will convene the National Energy Summit & International Dialogue.
