New Carbon Strategy in West Virginia
A West Virginia power plant has begun a new program to dispose of its carbon dioxide. Instead of releasing it into the atmosphere, the Mountaineer plant is injecting it into the earth itself. Report: Companies Are Pursuing Sustainability
The Wall Street Journal is discussing a new study out from the Carbon Disclosure Project. The report finds that more than half of American companies in the S&P 500 have targets for reducing their emissions. That's up from the 32 percent last year who had such plans. In addition, more companies are setting ambitious goals for themselves -- not just reducing their emissions, but reducing them significantly. MIT Sloan Survey: Practicing Sustainability Yields New Competitive Advantages
The MIT Sloan Management Review and the Boston Consulting Group have just concluded a survey of 1500 corporate leaders on their sustainability practices. The findings show that while the vast majority of companies are addressing sustainability in their businesses, their implementation varies widely.
