(Washington- DC) The Council on Competitiveness today announced former senior advisor at the White House Office of Management Budget (OMB), Michelle Moore has joined as its newest senior fellow. Moore also served as Federal Environmental Executive with the White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ).
As a member of the administration, Moore’s accomplishments included leading the initiative to cut red tape and permitting timelines for 50 critical infrastructure projects including ports, transportation, pipelines, and renewable energy developments; and launching the Better Buildings Challenge, which provided $4 billion in public and private investments in building energy retrofits at no up-front cost to taxpayers.
“Ms. Moore’s expertise in the energy and infrastructure sectors will be a valuable addition to the Council,” said Council President & CEO Deborah L. Wince-Smith. “We are honored to have someone with her background and leadership skills as we take our competitiveness action agenda to the next level.”
“The Council on Competitiveness’ work is essential to informing smart policies through effective business-government collaboration,” said Michelle Moore. “I am thrilled to join their team of experts to support the Council’s mission of keeping the U.S. at the forefront of economic leadership and advancing our nation’s growth, prosperity, and quality of life.”
Moore has more than a decade of expertise in social entrepreneurship and building public-private partnerships that demonstrate how organizations can deliver purpose-focused results through competitive, profitable business models.
Previously, she served as a senior vice president at the U.S. Green Building Council, where she spearheaded the marketing and public affairs program. Moore worked to make green building a mainstream movement with registered LEED buildings in more than 90 countries. And she worked with the Clinton Climate Initiative to launch its Climate+ program in locations across six continents.
Moore began her business career as Director of eBusiness for Interface Inc., a global textile manufacturer and early leader in corporate sustainability. Moore holds a Bachelor of Arts from Emory University and Master of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.
