Summit Alert: Ted Turner joins National Energy Summit as featured speaker
Entrepreneur and philanthropist will speak on technology at Council summit in September
Renowned entrepreneur and philanthropist Ted Turner will be a featured speaker at the Council on Competitiveness' National Energy Summit & International Dialogue, September 23-24, in Washington, DC.
Mr. Turner will take part in a Leadership Dialogue - moderated by The Honorable Timothy E. Wirth, President of the United Nations Foundation - entitled "Enabling Technology Cooperation and Deployment to Achieve Energy Security, Sustainability and Competitiveness".
Mr. Turner has been a pioneer since entering the television business in 1970. Ten years after acquiring an independent station in Atlanta, he launched CNN, the world's first live, 24-hour global news network. Mr. Turner has done unprecedented charitable work, starting the Turner Foundation Inc. to support the development of a sustainable energy future and pledging an historic $1 billion to the United Nations.
The National Energy Summit & International Dialogue will feature two days of high-level, outcome-based dialogues focused on addressing specific steps to drive competitiveness and prosperity through sustainable energy.
