George A. David
Chairman, United Technologies CorporationGeorge David is Chairman of United Technologies Corporation and was its Chief Executive Officer from 1994 through 2008. He joined UTC's Otis Elevator subsidiary in 1975 and became its President in 1986.
He received his B.A. from Harvard and M.B.A. from the University of Virginia.
Mr. David is a board member of BP and a former board member of Citigroup. He is Vice Chairman of the Peterson Institute for International Economics and has chaired, among others, the boards of the Graduate Business School at the University of Virginia and the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art in Hartford. He has been recognized by Barron's, Business Week, and Institutional Investor magazines as among the world's best CEOs.
He was awarded in 1999 the Order of Friendship from the Russian Federation for contributions to that nation's economy and especially its aerospace industry. In 2002 he was awarded France's Legion of Honor.
