Council President Discusses Private Sector R&D at National Science and Technology Summit
Council on Competitiveness president, Deborah L. Wince-Smith, participated in the National Science and Technology Summit, “Science, Technology, and American Competitiveness: Progress and Direction Forward,” at Oak Ridge National Laboratory August 19. The Summit, which was called for by the 2007 America COMPETES Act, examined the U.S. science and technology enterprise and reviewed the progress toward meeting the goals set by America COMPETES and the president’s American Competitiveness Initiative. The Summit was convened by Dr. John H. Marburger III, director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy.
