Summit Alert: President of Iceland Joins Prestigious Dialogue Lineup

President Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson of Iceland, a global leader in climate change policy, will speak at the National Energy Summit & International Dialogue, September 24, in Washington, DC.
President Grímsson will participate in a leadership dialogue - moderated by the Honorable Timothy E. Wirth, President of the United Nations Foundation - titled, "Enabling Technology Cooperation and Deployment to Achieve Energy Security, Sustainability and Competitiveness." The panel will also include: Dr. Dan E. Arvizu, Director of National Renewable Energy Laboratory and Mr. Robert Edward "Ted" Turner III, Chairman of Turner Enterprises, Inc.
Now in his fourth term as the President of Iceland, Mr. Grímsson continues to be an international spokesperson for efforts to reduce climate change. He initiated the Global Roundtable on Climate Change, convening 100 European and American corporations, as well as experts, scientists and leaders to find a consensus on the economic and scientific debate in the international community. He has received numerous distinctions including the Jawaharlal Nehru Award for International Understanding from the Government of India in 2007.
