Council Debates Energy Solutions on PBS Series “This is America with Dennis Wholey”
Public, Private Sector Leaders Discuss Energy Transformation

Washington DC - In conjunction with the Council on Competitiveness' National Energy Summit & International Dialogue last month, the PBS Series "This is America with Dennis Wholey" featured the Council in a roundtable discussion on pressing energy challenges. The two-part debate first focused on the substance of America's energy issues, then turned to the solutions for economic growth and sustainability in the renewable energy industry.
The show featured Council on Competitiveness Distingiushed Fellow Alexander "Andy" Karsner, and Council Executive Committee member Lou Anna K. Simon, President of Michigan State University.
They were joined by David E. Rodgers, Director of Strategic Planning for the Department of Energy; Daniel J. Weiss, Director of Climate Strategy with the Center for American Progress, Rayola Dougher, Senior Economist for the American Petroleum Institute; and Eileen Claussen, President for the Pew Center on Global Climate Change.
