LA Times Report Recognizes Council’s Clean Energy Work
Council Members Stress Importance of Energy Transformation
October 26, 2009
Washington DC - Reporting on President Barack Obama's recent clean energy speech at MIT, Los Angeles Times reporter Jim Tankersley cited the Council on Competitiveness as a strong force pushing for energy transformation.
Chad Holliday, Chairman of the Council and DuPont, was quoted on the importance of winning the race for clean energy jobs. "Every country out there wants these so-called green jobs," Holliday says. "If we move fast, we can get at least our share. But there's a downside. If we sit back and allow other countries to build that infrastructure . . . we're going to lose."
The report also quotes Compete:Energy Co-Chair Jim Owens, chairman and chief executive of Caterpillar, and Council executive committee member Ralph Izzo, president and chief executive of Public Service Enterprise Group Inc. Read the story.
