How Will Heath Care Reform Impact American Competitiveness?

Council on Competitiveness President & CEO Deborah Wince-Smith was on CNBC immediately following the vote on health care reform to discuss its impact on American businesses.

"The real issue is whether or not we are going to be able to address the cost containment, Wince-Smith said during a panel with former Genentech Inc. president Myrtle Potter and former Medtronic chairman and CEO William George.

"One of the concerns of business is this new surtax that's applying to capital gains, Wince-Smith added. "When you look at the burdens that are going to be placed, not just on business but also on individuals, this is going have a big impact on where investment is done in the world and on our competitiveness"
