May 25, 2011

25th AnniversaryThis year marks the Council on Competitiveness’ 25th Anniversary. To commemorate this historic occasion, the Council will honor its tradition of excellence by convening America’s most influential leaders at an exclusive gala in Washington, DC on December 7th. The gala will be followed by a National Manufacturing Competitiveness Summit on December 8th, which will harness the insight of the nation’s premier decision-makers to forge a new path toward sustained American prosperity.

Building on previous successful endeavors addressing energy and innovation, the Council will convene a prestigious group of business leaders, senior Administration officials, congressional leadership and key stakeholders for the Summit. The Summit will unveil the Council’s comprehensive national manufacturing vision, and will identify new opportunities to create a more robust industrial base. America’s prosperity and national security is intrinsically tied to its capacity to translate new ideas into new products, services and jobs in the United States.

For a quarter century, the Council has worked closely with the White House, Congress and the private sector to raise the standard of living for every American. This approach embodies the spirit of American competitiveness, and this event will showcase the organization’s dedication to that cause.
