CEO and President of the Council on Competitiveness Deborah L. Wince-Smith speaks to U.S. House of Representatives Democratic Caucus at Conference

February 02, 2012

CEO and President of the Council on Competitiveness Deborah Wince-Smith joined U.S. Small Business Administrator Karen G. Mills and other distinguished labor and business leaders on a panel discussing what it will take to move our nation to a more innovation-driven economy at the U.S. House of Representatives Democratic Caucus Issues Conference in late January.

Drawing on the work of the Council over the years, including the most recent endeavor of the U.S. Manufacturing Competitiveness Initiative, Wince-Smith shared the Council’s lessons learned and action steps around keeping America competitive and crafting an innovation economy. Wince-Smith shared copies of the Council’s most recent report, MAKE: An American Manufacturing Movement, with attendees of the conference, including Members of Congress and their staff.

Wince-Smith's remarks were well received and give momentum to the continued work of the Council to engage both the Democrats and the Republicans around the non-partisan issue of keeping America competitive in global markets, including manufacturing.
