Council member and University of California Chancellor Marye Anne Fox to be Awarded 2012 Othmer Gold Medal

San Diego's Chemical Heritage Foundation will award the 2012 Othmer Gold Medal to Council member and University of California Chancellor Marye Anne Fox. Established in 1997, the Medal honors brilliant individuals who have made substantial and sustained contributions in innovation, entrepreneurship, research, and education.
Dr. Fox is known all around the world for her work in chemistry and academia. In 2004, she became the 7th chancellor of the University of California, San Diego. Fox is also a member of the U.S. Council on Competitiveness Executive Committee, where she shares the Council’s views on the important role that innovation, entrepreneurship, and education play in strengthening America’s long-term competitiveness.
