Council President Rings NASDAQ Stock Market Closing Bell

Co-founders of Women Corporate Directors preside over closing with Council president

Council on Competitiveness President Deborah L. Wince-Smith and the co-founders of Women Corporate Directors presided over the closing bell of the NASDAQ Stock Market May 28, 2008.

Wince-Smith also serves on the board of directors of the NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc., and the NASDAQ Stock Exchange. 

Women Corporate Directors (WCD) is the only national and international community of women corporate directors committed to identifying critical issues facing corporate boards in general, and women board members in particular, providing members a forum for sharing information, cultivating relationships and discovering professional opportunities. With more than 425 members, WCD has 11 chapters in New York City, London, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Seattle, Southern California, South Florida and Washington, with four new chapters to begin this year in Arizona, Charlotte, Cleveland and San Francisco.
