Energy Efficiency Hall of Fame Inducts Distinguished Fellow

Council on Competitiveness Distinguished Fellow, Alexander "Andy" Karsner, was inducted into the Energy Efficiency Forum Hall of Fame this week. Karsner was selected for his leadership in promoting energy efficiency worldwide, and for his significant impact on the environment, national security and economic growth.
Karsner served as America's ninth Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy ("EERE") from 2005 to 2008, during a period of unprecedented growth in clean energy technologies, investments and policy formulations. He distinguished himself as a principal architect and contributor to international climate change deliberations toward achieving a post-2012 global energy framework and as America's top regulator for energy efficiency. Karsner brings twenty years of experience in global energy development and project financing across a wide array of conventional and renewable sources.
The Hall of Fame inductees were selected by the Energy Efficiency Forum Executive Council through the following criteria:
- The nominee must have demonstrated ongoing leadership in energy efficiency, making the topic a significant part of the individual’s career and extending his/her impact beyond the organization.
- The nominee must have attained recognition in the field of energy efficiency, either in the public or private sector.
- The nominee must have advanced the Energy Efficiency Forum mission.
- The nominee must have participated or plan to participate in an Energy Efficiency Forum, as an award recipient, speaker, or member of the Executive Council.
