Holdren to Discuss the Role of the Federal Government in Accelerating Energy-Technology Innovation

John P. Holdren, Assistant to the President for Science and Technology and Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy, will be a featured speaker at the Council on Competitiveness National Energy Summit & International Dialogue, September 23-24, in Washington, DC.
Dr. Holdren will take part in a Leadership Dialogue entitled "Spawning Technological Breakthroughs and Entrepreneurship."
Dr. Holdren holds advanced degrees in aerospace engineering and theoretical plasma physics from MIT and Stanford and is highly regarded for his work on energy technology and policy, global climate change, and nuclear arms control and nonproliferation. Before joining the Administration, Dr. Holdren was the Teresa and John Heinz Professor of Environmental Policy at Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government, Director of the Science, Technology, and Public Policy program at that school's Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, and Director of the Woods Hole Research Center.
