The purpose of the Technology Leadership & Strategy Initiative (TLSI) a distinctive, leadership network of chief technology officers from industry, academia and national laboratories incubated by the Council on Competitiveness is to understand a range of changes, challenges and opportunities facing the United States and to design a new paradigm for public-private partnership necessary to supporting America's future technology leadership.
The goals of the TLSI are straightforward:
- Define technology investment drivers and strategies at the heart of long-term innovation capacity;
- Establish a new paradigm for collaboration between the public and private sectors to optimize America's investments in research, talent and technology; and
- Identify critical technology and policy roadmaps to assure that the United States sustains the innovation and technology advantage required for national security and economic competitiveness
For the past three years, the TLSI has suggested ways to strengthen America's technology leadership through an ongoing, progressive dialogue and a series of cutting-edge reports, surveys and conferences. The TLSI Overview and its 3-volume set of 6 reports, Change, Explore, Energize, Examine, Optimize, and Resolve—document the ongoing efforts of the TLSI, its key recommendations, and a path forward to ensure long-term U.S. competitiveness.
