Overview & Key Recommendations
Published November 2012
The purpose of the “Technology Leadership & Strategy Initiative” (TLSI) – a distinctive, leadership network of chief technology officers from industry, academia and national laboratories incubated by the Council on Competitiveness – is to understand a range of changes, challenges and opportunities facing the United States and to design a new paradigm for public-private partnership necessary to supporting America’s future technology leadership.
The goals of the TLSI are straightforward:
- Define technology investment drivers and strategies at the heart of long-term innovation capacity;
- Establish a new paradigm for collaboration between the public and private sectors to optimize America’s investments in research, talent and technology; and,
- Identify critical technology and policy roadmaps to assure that the United States sustains the innovation and technology advantage required for national security and economic competitiveness
