Washington, DC - During his final State of the Union address, President Obama laid out his successes over the last seven years and told the nation, “Anyone claiming that America’s economy is in decline is peddling fiction.” But despite making progress on the nation’s competitiveness agenda, much work still needs to be done.
The Council on Competitiveness, comprised of leaders from industry, labor, and academia, see this final year of the Obama presidency as an opportunity to carry the momentum from December’s budget agreement forward. In December, the Council released its Clarion Call report card showing an economy still in recovery requiring Congressional and Presidential attention.

Building and Scaling 10-Year Partnership Devoted to Enhancing U.S.-Brazil Innovation
Washington, D.C. (June 30, 2015) – The Council on Competitiveness today signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Financiadora de Estudos e Projetos (FINEP), creating a new pathway of engagement for the U.S. and Brazil to achieve their innovation goals. As a result of the agreement, which bridges the United States’ private sector with Brazil’s premier innovation agency, FINEP and the Council will host a series of workshops and partnership events, including the 2016 U.S.-Brazil CEO Innovation Summit in San Diego.
