Council on Competitiveness Launches Exploring Innovation Frontiers Initiative (EIFI)

National Dialogue to Create Agenda for the Future of American Innovation

Atlanta, Georgia (June 9, 2015) – The Council on Competitiveness today launched the Exploring Innovation Frontiers Initiative (EIFI), a national public-private effort to develop the agenda for enhancing U.S. competitiveness in the coming decades. The initiative, which is supported by the National Science Foundation, kicked off with a pioneering conference and dialogue on American innovation, co-hosted by the Council, Georgia Institute of Technology, Georgia Research Alliance and Metro Atlanta Chamber.

The EIFI program consists of four high-level dialogues over 24 months, bringing together experts from industry, labor, academia and research institutions, as well as other key influencers and thought leaders.

The Council on Competitiveness (Council), the Alliance to Save Energy (ASE) and the Department of Energy (Department) today launched the second in a series of three progressive regional dialogues aimed at creating a roadmap to leverage the strengths of the private sector to meet President Obama’s stated goal of doubling U.S. energy productivity from 2010 levels by 2030, while also boosting economic output and strengthening America’s competitiveness.
