Washington, D.C.—HPCwire, a trusted news source for high performance computing (HPC) coverage, has awarded the Council on Competitiveness with three distinct prestigious HPCwire Awards for its impactful collaborations with the U.S. government and various manufacturing industries. The Council's National Digital Engineering and Manufacturing Consortium (NDEMC) program was also honored at the SC12 Supercomputing Conference in Salt Lake City on November 12th for its role in facilitating HPC resources to small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises (SMEs).

Based on its significant role in several DreamWorks SKG's supercomputing projects, The Council earned both the Readers' and Editor's Choice Awards for Best use of High Performance Computing (HPC) in the entertainment industry. The Council, a non-profit and bi-partisan non-government organization, provided public policy recommendations that paved the way for the Department of Energy's Innovative and Novel Computational Impact on Theory and Experiment (INCITE) program to go beyond academic and government sectors-and pursue private industry projects.

In addition to these two highly-coveted honors, the NDEMC program was recognized for its HPC collaboration between Government and Industry. HPCwire Readers' Choice Award criterion is predicated on the online polling results from its international readership. The Editors' Choice Award involves an intricate selection process, which includes a panel evaluation consisting of editorial and executive staff, HPC luminaries and contributing editors throughout the industry.
